  • how to stimulate systemic change and track progress 
  • a framework for designing and implementing an effective diversity and inclusion policy and action plan to support business needs
  • ways of keeping in touch with good practice and maintaining progress. 


Course Programme


Morning session


  • welcome and introductions
  • learn how to learn and keep on learning about diversity and inclusion
  • explore equality, diversity and inclusion and what it means
  • consider the pressures that are driving attention
  • examine key drivers of progress,including: 
    • discrimination law
    • voluntary public policy initiatives
    • procurement 
    • the business case – beyond safeguarding the risk of legal costs and corporate reputation
    • good practice, benchmarking and awards recognising achievements
  • making a business case for an organisation
  • consider how behaviour causes unfair advantage and disadvantage


Afternoon session


  • how it feels to be ‘different’ – excluded/included and the behavioural consequences
  • the importance of dignity and respect at work
  • flexible ways of working – the way forward for business
  • design of a policy for supporting diversity and inclusion 
  • draw up an action plan to start and stimulate the progress
