For the purpose of these terms and conditions, ‘Events’ mean all learning interventions, such as face to face classroom based short courses, webinars, virtual classroom short courses, blended learning programmes. ‘Programme’ means a learning journey made up of more than one of the above Events. Typically, it comprises several modules delivered as self-directed learning, face to face classrooms, blended learning or virtual classrooms or webinars.; ‘Short Course’ means a standalone training course which can be delivered as face to face, webinars or virtual classrooms; ‘Start Date’ means the commencement date of a Programme, Short Course, Webinar or Virtual Classroom; ‘We’ ’Us’ and ‘Our’ means CIPD Enterprises Ltd, 151 The Broadway, London SW19 1JQ (which is wholly owned by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. Registered in England and Wales (2921009); ‘You and Your’ means the delegate who will be attending the Short Course or Programme.
Booking by telephone and online
When booking by telephone or online, We will confirm acceptance of Your booking by sending a confirmation to Your nominated email address. Our acceptance of Your booking will give rise to a legally binding contract between Us on these terms and conditions, governed by the laws of England and Wales. No amendments to bookings will be valid unless made in writing to the Events Registrar and signed by an authorised CIPD signatory. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
Rights to cancel telephone and online bookings
You may cancel Your booking without charge at any time within 14 days from the date on which We confirm Your booking, by emailing the Events Registrar. This 14-day period is known as the ‘Cancellation Period’. We will issue a refund for any fees paid to Us within 14 days of receipt of Your cancellation notice. Where the Cancellation Period expires after Your Start Date You will be charged for any services provided to You prior to Your cancellation. Please note that requests to cancel after 14 days of receipt of Your booking confirmation and less than 35 days from the Start Date, will be subject to the cancellation fees listed below.
Cancellation fees Pertaining to All Events
There is no charge for cancellations made 35 or more days before Your Start Date. Cancellation requests received between 34-15 days of the Start Date are subject to a cancellation fee of 50% of Your Event fees; cancellations received within 14 days of Your Start Date are subject to a cancellation fee of 100% of Your Event fees. If Your cancellation relates to a Start Date which has been deferred from the date stated on Your booking confirmation pursuant to a transfer request, your right to further cancellation is invalid.
If you wish to cancel your booking for a webinar or virtual classroom, there is no charge for cancellations made 21 or more days before Your Start Date. For cancellation requests received between 20-7 days of the Start Date a cancellation charge of £50 will apply. If you cancel within a week of the Start Date an administration fee of £75 will apply.
Payment can be made by BACs, cheque, or selected credit/debit cards. Payment must be received within 30 days of the invoice date, if such invoice is issued less than 30 days before Your Start Date, your fees will be payable before Your Start Date. We accept payment of fees by Your employer but will consider You to be responsible and liable for Your fees. We will terminate the contract with You if Your employer fails to pay Your fees by the due date. Bookings made from outside the UK will not be confirmed until payment has been received.
You may at any time before Your Start Date notify Us in writing that You wish to defer Your Start Date or transfer to a different Event. Please note that once a Programme has commenced You must attend each module on the scheduled dates as set out in Your booking confirmation and it is not possible to request any changes. Aside for webinar and virtual classroom bookings, there is a £100 administration fee payable if Your request to defer or transfer is made within 35 days of Your Start Date or if You make more than one request.
If You wish to defer Your Start Date in respect of a webinar or virtual classroom, no charge will apply for transfer requests made up to 7 days before your Start Date. If requesting to transfer within 7 days of your Start Date there will be a £50 administration fee payable.
No refunds are payable if You fail to attend Your Event. Subject to Our approval, you may nominate a substitute to attend in Your place if You are unable to attend for any reason.
Webinar and Virtual Classroom slides
Course materials will be provided electronically as applicable to each course. Recordings are for quality assurance and training purposes only.
Award certificates will be issued on successful completion of a CIPD Level 5 Intermediate or a CIPD Level 7 Award (Programme). Attendance certificates will be issued following full attendance of a Programme and/or Events. These are issued as either e-certificates or hardcopy certificates if attending a face to face event.
Period to complete Programmes
All Programmes must be completed within the maximum time period stated on the CIPD website, the start date of a Programme being defined as any of the following: induction day, introductory workshop, introductory virtual classroom, required online and/or telephone activity or the first module that is attended. Completion is defined as completing all Programme requirements outlined on Our website.
Should You require a visa for a face to face programme or short course, please allow sufficient time before Your Start Date to complete Your visa application. If You have applied for a student visa and Your application has been refused, we will provide a full refund of fees. To process the refund, we will require a copy of Your visa application and refusal letter. Where We are informed of a visa application refusal less than 35 days before the start of the Programme, You will incur a £300 administration fee. If You are entering the UK on a student visa from a country outside the EEA (European Economic Area) and fail to attend Your Programme, unless You have advised us of the reasons for this, We may be required to notify the immigration authorities.
As our Programmes and Events are delivered in English, it is important that You have achieved a sufficient standard level of English (verbal and written) (IELTS 6.5 or suitable equivalent as a minimum) in order to be able to draw the most learning from Your Programme or Event, and by submitting Your booking You confirm that You have achieved this level of English.
We reserve the right to cancel an Event at any time and offer an alternative date, a credit or a refund without any liability for consequential or indirect loss. All Event dates are correct at the time of going to print. However, alterations may occasionally be necessary due to circumstances beyond Our reasonable control. Personal views & experiences expressed by course and personal tutors and speakers are their own. Course materials are provided for general guidance only and should not be relied on as specific legal or professional advice. Except in the case of death or personal injury arising from Our negligence, we shall not be liable for any special, indirect or consequential loss, or for any economic loss. In addition, Our aggregate liability under this Agreement is limited to the amount of Your fees. We can accept no liability for any loss suffered by any person acting or refraining from action as a result of the material delivered during or in connection with Our events.
Intellectual Property Protection
Please be aware that the recording of virtual classrooms, face to face classroom based learning and webinar events are strictly forbidden to protect CIPD Intellectual Property. For Quality Assurance purposes only, CIPD may in some instances choose to record any given Event for internal use only.
