BOOKING TERMS AND CONDITIONS

CANCELLATIONS AND TRANSFERS

All cancellations and requests to transfer must be made in writing to the events registrar by email - eventsregistrar@cipd.co.uk and will be acknowledged in writing.

Programmes Type A

• CIPD Intermediate Level Award in Employment Law • CIPD Advanced Level Award in Reward Management (students commencing before 2018) • CIPD Advanced Award in Employment Law (students commencing before 2018)

1. PAYMENT TERMS

Payment for each module must be received before the start of each module or within 30 days of invoice date, whichever is the sooner. Bookings made outside the UK will not be confirmed until payment has been received. We accept payment by direct credit, cheque or selected credit/debit cards.

2.TRANSFERS, CANCELLATIONS AND NON-ATTENDANCE

2.1 PROGRAMME TRANSFERS

  • There is no charge for transferring to an alternative programme start date, provided the request is received 61 or more days before the start of the programme.
  • Requests to transfer received 29-60 days before the start of the programme will be subject to a transfer fee of 20 per cent of the programme fees.
  • Requests to transfer received 15-28 days before the start of the programme will be subject to a transfer fee of 30 per cent of the programme fees.
  • Requests to transfer received 0-14 days before the start of the programme will be subject to a transfer fee of 50 per cent of the programme fees.

2.2 MODULE TRANSFERS

  • There is no charge for transferring to an alternative module date, provided the request is received 31 or more days before the start of the module. (Under these terms students are allowed a total of three transfers free of charge (a total of five transfers for the Advanced Award in Employment Law) after which there will be a £100.00 administration charge for each further request). 
  • Requests to transfer received within 15-30 days of the start of the module will be subject to a transfer fee of 20 per cent of the certificate course module fees. 
  • Requests to transfer received within 0-14 days of the start of the module will be subject to a transfer fee of 30 per cent of the module fees.

2.3 CANCELLING FROM THE QUALIFICATION PROGRAMME

  • There is no charge for cancellations made 61 or more days before the start of the programme.
  • Cancellations made 60 or less days before the start of the programme will be subject to charges as per the short courses cancellation terms in 3.2.
  • Students wishing to cancel from the programme once they have started, will not be refunded for modules already attended and will be subject to a 25 per cent cancellation fee for all outstanding modules that the student will not attend. Students are advised to contact their training coordinator on traininginfo@cipd.co.uk.

2.4 NON-ATTENDANCE

  • Should the student fail to attend a module the full module fees are payable.

Please Note: On successful completion of a CIPD Level 5 Intermediate or a CIPD Level 7 Awards you will receive the ‘CIPD Intermediate or Advanced Award in Human Resources’. Your CIPD Awarding Body certificate will reflect this. An accompanying transcript to the certificate will highlight the specific Award unit studied.

 

Programmes Type B

All CIPD qualifications (excluding Programmes Type A)

  • If the student fails to attend/ commence the programme, 100 per cent of the programme fees are payable.
  • If a student wishes to cancel from the programme once the programme has begun, 100 per cent fees are payable. Students are advised to contact their training coordinator on traininginfo@cipd.co.uk.

NB: These qualifications are cohort driven and as such all modules within the chosen cohort need to be attended in sequential order.  In cases of extenuating circumstances please contact the training coordinator on traininginfo@cipd.co.uk.

2.4 NON-ATTENDANCE

Please Note: On successful completion of a Level 3 Foundation Award programme, you’ll be awarded the ‘CIPD Foundation Award in Human Resources Essentials’ and for Level 5 Intermediate and Level 7 Awards you will receive the ‘CIPD Intermediate or Advanced Award in Human Resources’. Your CIPD Awarding Body certificate will reflect this. An accompanying transcript to the certificate will highlight the specific Award unit studied.

PERIOD TO COMPLETE THE ABOVE PROGRAMMES

The above programmes must be completed within the maximum time period stated under ‘How long does it take?’ on the website, the start date of the programme being defined as any of the following: Induction day, Initial briefing day, Introductory workshop, required online and/or telephone activity or the first course module that is attended.  Completion is defined as completing all requirements of the programme as outlined under ‘How do I gain the qualification?’ on the website.  In cases of extenuating circumstances please contact the training coordinator on traininginfo@cipd.co.uk.

LEARNER AGREEMENT FOR ABOVE PROGRAMMES

It is expected that you will suitably manage your time and attendance on the programme yourself in order to meet the necessary requirements for successful completion of the programme. This includes work commitments, holidays and other commitments that we recommend you identify for yourself at the start of a programme of study. Please refer to the full learner agreement included in your booking confirmation which must be returned before starting the programme.

 

Programmes Type C

Development programmes and Qualifications from other awarding bodies (not CIPD)

Please Note: On successful completion of a development programme you will receive a Certificate of Completion from CIPD Training. Accredited certificates will be issued by the regulated awarding body.


Short Courses

1. PAYMENT TERMS

Payment must be received before the start of the course or within 30 days of invoice date, whichever is the sooner. Bookings made outside the UK will not be confirmed until payment has been received. We accept payment by direct credit, cheque or selected credit/debit cards.

2. BOOKING BY TELEPHONE AND ONLINE

2.1 Where booking (including paying) by telephone and online, we will confirm our acceptance of your order by sending an email to your nominated address, which shall include the details of your booking and the price paid by you (the “Confirmation”).

2.2 You may cancel your booking without charge at any time within fourteen (14) days of the date of your receipt of our Confirmation by emailing eventsregistrar@cipd.co.uk, or by calling 020 8612 6229.

2.3 Once we have been notified of your wish to cancel in accordance with clause 2.2 the sum debited by us from your debit or credit card for the order in question will be re-credited to your account within 30 days of your order being cancelled provided that, where any materials have been received by you in accordance with the relevant order, you have returned them and they have been received by us in the same condition as when they were provided to you.

 

2.4 For the avoidance of doubt, where you make any booking and receive Confirmation fewer than seven (7) days before the date on which the booking is scheduled to be performed, you shall be entitled to cancel at any time before the booking has been performed, but shall not be entitled to cancel after performance of the booking, regardless of your attendance and/or the number of days since your receipt of Confirmation.

  • There is no charge for transferring to an alternative course date, provided the request is received 31 or more days before the start of the course. One free transfer can be made after which there will be a £100.00 administration charge for each further request.
  • Requests to transfer received 15-30 days before the start of the course will be subject to a transfer fee of 20 per cent of the course fees.
  • Requests to transfer received 0-14 days before the start of the course will be subject to a transfer fee of 30 per cent of the course fees

3.2 CANCELLATIONS

  • There is no charge for cancellations received 61 or more days before the start of the course.
  • Cancellations received 29-60 days before the start of the course are subject to a cancellation fee of 25 per cent of the course fees.
  • Cancellations received 15-28 days before the start of the course are subject to a cancellation fee of 50 per cent of the course fees.
  • Cancellations received 0-14 days before the start of the course are subject to a cancellation fee of 100 per cent of the course fees.
  • If the participant fails to attend the course, the full course fees are payable.
  • If the participant has previously transferred from an alternative course date and then subsequently cancels from the new course date then the cancellation fee charged will revert to the balance of those applicable at the time of the original transfer.

3.3 NON-ATTENDANCE

  • Should the delegate fail to attend a course the full course fees are payable


Paid for Webinars

(Singles or Webinar series)

1. PAYMENT TERMS

Payment must be received before the start of the webinar or within 30 days of invoice date, whichever is the sooner. Bookings made outside the UK will not be confirmed until payment has been received. We accept payment by direct credit, cheque or selected credit/debit cards.

2. BOOKING BY TELEPHONE AND ONLINE

3.1 TRANSFERS

  • There is no charge for transferring to an alternative webinar date (subject to availability), provided the request is received 2 hours or more before the start.
  • Requests to transfer received less than 2 hours before the start will be subject to a £15 administration charge.

3.2 CANCELLATIONS

  • There is no charge for cancellations received 48 hours before the start with exception of those booking within the cooling off period.
  • Cancellations received 0-47 hours before the start time are subject to a 100 per cent cancellation fee.
  • If the participant fails to attend the webinar 100 per cent fees are payable.

Slide decks and recordings for webinars will not be issued after CIPD Training webinar events.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

As our course programmes and webinars are delivered in English, it is important that students and delegates attending have achieved a sufficient standard level of English (verbal and written) (IELTS 6.5 as a minimum) in order to be able to draw the most learning from their course, programme or webinar. By booking a place the course, programme or webinar and therefore accepting these terms and conditions, you are confirming that you have achieved this level of English.

VISA REFUSAL REFUND POLICY

Please allow sufficient time before the start of your qualification programme for your visa application procedure.  If you have applied for a student visa and your application has been refused, we will provide a full refund of programme fees.  In order to make the refund we will require a copy of your application and your notification of rejection for your visa.  Where we are informed of a visa application refusal less than 29 days before the start of the programme, you will incur a £300 administration fee.

Where you have already attended 1 or more modules, in order to complete your studies you will be able to transfer your attendance to a later course at no cost.  However, if your visa application is continuously turned down to the extent that you are unable to complete your studies within the designated timeframe, we will extend the time in which you can complete your studies.

If you are entering the UK on a student visa from a country outside the EEA (European Economic Area) and fail to attend your programme, unless you have advised us of the reasons for this, we may be required to notify the immigration authorities.

DISCLAIMER

We reserve the right to cancel a short course, Programme Type A, B or C, or Webinar at any time and offer an alternative date, a credit or a refund without any liability for consequential or indirect loss.

Programmes are correct at the time of going to print. However, alterations may occasionally be necessary due to circumstances beyond our control. Views expressed by course and personal tutors and speakers are their own. CIPD Enterprises do not accept any liability for advice given or views expressed by them or in any notes or documentation provided to course delegates, certificate students or conference delegates.
