This 1 day course covers the relationship between employment law and the use of social media in the workplace through the examination of legal, ethical, and sensible considerations. You'll explore ethical issues, good practice in this area and behaviours to support this practice with lively discussions and hands-on exercises. Overall, you'll have an overview of how social media impacts all people management processes and the entire employment life cycle.

Social Media and Employment Law is ideal if you are at the beginning of your career and wish to broaden your understanding of strategic thinking and ethical considerations.


By the end of the Social Media and Employment Law course, you'll be able to:

  • key legislation as an evolving area with the likes of data protection, harassment and more 
  • policy or practice mindset - how to embrace what you can't control and turn a crisis to an advantage rather than a risk
  • risk management - with the use of a risk register you'll look at high profile cases, discuss common risks, and works through a risk management process 
  • Netiquette - a guideline on how to behave properly and treat people well online.
