HR in Practice is the essential course providing an excellent overview of human resources in practice. Its participative nature makes this an ideal opportunity for you to explore and exchange ideas and information with other participants.

This highly practical course focuses on ‘how to’, offering plenty of solid advice, sound practice and tips on where and how to get started. You’ll learn how to manage those day to day situations that arise when working in HR, and get guidance on topics such as employee relations, risk assessment, creating high performance, and doing sound HR practice.

Mrs Philippa Webster

Philippa has a wealth of HR experience and her skills and knowledge cover a wide-range of HR areas including dealing with grievance and disciplinary issues for clients, whilst running training programmes, not only for the CIPD, but bespoke offerings to private clients. She also works as a ‘hands-on’ HR professional working with organisations, large and small in areas such as measuring the ROI on the HR function - such as training - as well as reviewing and writing policies and procedures. She works all over the UK and in Europe and has worked for private organisation, public organisations and European bodies. She is a published author.

Mrs Gerry Eckersley

A highly effective and commercially astute Leadership & Management Consultant with a proven track record of delivery across OD, Culture Change, Leadership Development, coaching and the full range of HR Disciplines. Known for commercial and practical solutions, as well as academic rigour, including teaching at University undergraduate and postgraduate level. Lay member of the Employment Tribunals (Scotland) and recognised coach and mentor to Director level.
