    This qualification is delivered and assessed fully online; the programme is nine months long. To gain your CIPD Foundation Certificate you must complete the following six units:

     

    Developing yourself as an effective HR practitioner

    Discover the knowledge and skills you need to work in HR and learn how to deliver timely and effective HR services to meet users’ needs, while planning your own personal development.

     

    Understanding organisations and the role of HR

    Learn how HR activities support an organisation’s strategy and assist the achievement of business objectives. Learn about the importance of organisational context and how internal and external factors shape HR activities. 

     

    Recording, analysing and using Human Resources information

    Develop your understanding of the important contribution that accurate data makes to the HR function. The unit spans the remit of data management including HR planning, recruitment and selection, performance and reward management, absence management, disciplinary and grievance procedures and electronic record management.

     

    Supporting good practice in Managing Employment Relations

    Understanding and effectively managing the employment relationship effectively is a key part of the role of the HR practitioner. Understand what constitutes good practice and gain an introduction to employment law within the context of employee relations.

     

    Supporting good practice in performance and reward management

    Learn about the purpose and role of HR in driving effective performance and reward management. On completion, feel more confident in providing first-line support to managers and employees on the subject of performance and reward management.

     

    Resourcing talent

    Organisational success depends on having the right skills mix. Learn about the factors that impact on an organisation’s resourcing and talent planning activities. This includes everything from attracting ‘talent’ to recruitment, selection, induction and importantly, retention.

    Accreditation

    On successful completion of the programme, you’ll be awarded the CIPD Level 3 Foundation Certificate in Human Resources Practice. The qualification is accredited by the CIPD and is on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) at level 3.

    How to gain

    To gain the CIPD Level 3 Foundation Certificate in Human Resource Practice through the online route, you must successfully complete the six programme units. This qualification is delivered and assessed fully online.

     

    For each of the six units you need to:

     

    • Complete and full participate in each unit
    • Successfully pass the assessment for each unit
    • All assessments are submitted and marked through the Virtual Learning Campus and can include projects, portfolios, digital and written assessments.
    • There are no examinations for this qualification.
