Maintaining the employment relationship

  • dealing with discrimination issues
  • the Equality Act and the protected characteristics Working Time Regulations and the ‘work-life’ balance
  • family friendly rights including maternity, paternity, adoption, parental leave. time off for dependants and flexible working
  • disciplinary and grievance processes
  • a practical approach to difficult issues.


Terminating the employment relationship

  • constructive, wrongful and unfair dismissal
  • resignations
  • redundancy
  • employment tribunals – who can claim, types of claim and compensation.

What's involved?

To be awarded the CIPD Foundation Award in Employment Law, you must:


  • attend the two-day course module - Fundamentals of Employment Law
  • successfully complete guided reading
  • successfully complete one written assignment of 3,000 words.
How long will it take to complete?
This qualification programme comprises a total of 60 hours learning overall, and you have a maximum of three months to complete the requirements of the programme.

  • CIPD Members: £1,269 + VAT
  • Non Members: £1,469 + VAT

 

What do the fees include?

The fees include all tuition, personal tutor support, assessment, course material and access to the dedicated Virtual Learning Environment. They do not include travel, accommodation, student membership or the £30 registration fee for the foundation level award if you’re not a member of the CIPD, which is payable directly to the CIPD.


CIPD Membership is not mandatory to complete the Award. However, we do strongly recommend coming into Student Membership at the start of your studies in order to benefit from the full range of CIPD resources available to members to aid you on the programme and thereafter. Please visit the latest membership prices. Membership can be renewed at the end of your membership term at your discretion.
